Dr. Abu Tweb Abu Ahmed
Director

Dr. Abu Tweb Abu Ahmed  is a Board Member of HFCL. He has completed his Master of Science degree in Fisheries Zoology from the University of Dhaka. He also accomplished PhD in Fisheries from the University of Tokyo. He was born on 19th October 1946.

Before joining as Director of HFCL, he was the Professor, Department of Zoology of University of Dhaka. From 1988 to 1991 he was the Chairman of the same Department. In addition of his sound professional career he also acted as Consultant and Research & Technical Expert with various multi-disciplinary teams, funded by foreign donors and government funded departmental research projects. As an Expert his last assignment was Padma Bridge Museum Project of the Department of Zoology, University of Dhaka and he was the Advisor cum Mollusk Expert of that project.

He is also involved with various socio-cultural organizations mainly for spreading science among the people of Bangladesh. Presently he is the Vice President of Dhaka Ahsania Mission.

Jb. Ahmed attended various Foreign Training Course/ Workshop/ Postdoctoral Research/Scientific Conferences held in USA, UK, Japan, Australia, China, Indonesia, Brunei, Maldives and Malaysia etc. He was awarded Fellowships/Scholarships by different local and foreign institutions.
